Why this matters

This lesson takes your child to a dinosaur dig to practice finding key facts in a short story. Your child will learn to spot the Who, What, Where, and When of a paragraph, pulling out the exact words from the text about a dinosaur dig.
Setup & materials
LearnSpark generates a 4-sentence dig-site field report for today's lesson — print it or copy it onto a single sheet of paper. Lay it on a tray of dry rice or sand as the 'dig site,' and set a highlighter beside it as the brush your child uses to uncover the who/what/where/when.
